At the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA), we are proud to work with settings like Hey Days Nursery and Preschool as part of our nationally recognised Maths Champions programme. Maths Champions is designed to strengthen early years maths practice, equipping practitioners with the confidence, subject knowledge and strategies to embed meaningful mathematical experiences throughout daily provision.

At Hey Days Nursery and Preschool, the programme supports practitioners to:

• Develop rich mathematical interactions during play

• Strengthen children’s understanding of number, pattern, shape and measure • Encourage problem-solving, reasoning and critical thinking

• Foster positive attitudes towards mathematics from an early age.

By embedding high-quality maths teaching across the nursery environment, children are supported to build secure foundations that prepare them for school and future learning.
