Maths Champions programme | NDNA | Thornhill Community Pre-school
At the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA), we are proud to support settings delivering our Maths Champions programme, including Thornhill Community Pre-school.
The focus of the Maths Champions programme at Thornhill Community Pre-school is to strengthen early years maths practice by supporting practitioners to confidently and consistently embed mathematical learning within children’s everyday experiences.
Through the programme, practitioners are developing the knowledge and strategies needed to create meaningful opportunities for children to explore mathematical concepts during play, helping to make maths a natural and enjoyable part of the preschool day.
At Thornhill Community Pre-school, the Maths Champions programme supports:
• Building children’s confidence with number, pattern, shape and mathematical language • Encouraging problem-solving, reasoning and early critical thinking skills
• Creating rich mathematical interactions through play and exploration
• Promoting positive attitudes towards maths from an early age.
By embedding high-quality maths experiences across the setting, the programme helps children develop the strong mathematical foundations they need for future learning.
NDNA is pleased to see the continued impact of the Maths Champions programme in settings like Thornhill Community Pre-school as part of our commitment to improving early years maths practice.
