The Maths Champions programme by the National Day Nurseries Association is a professional development course designed to improve early years maths outcomes. It provides 12 months of flexible online training, practical resources and ongoing support to help practitioners embed maths into everyday play and routines.
The programme involves appointing a Maths Champion and Deputy who complete structured training and lead improvements within their setting. It focuses on building staff confidence, knowledge and skills in supporting children’s mathematical development. Overall, the programme helps create a positive maths culture and has been shown to improve children’s progress in early education
