How Creating Spaces of Belonging, Dignity, and Joy for Staff Directly Transforms the Lives of Children

The People and Careers Stage
This session explores the often-overlooked truth that children’s wellbeing is inseparable from the emotional, relational, and ethical conditions in which staff work. Drawing on lived experience as a neurodivergent leader, alongside early years pedagogy and practice, Rob Fox examines how spaces of dignity, belonging, and joy for educators directly shape children’s sense of safety, regulation, and possibility. Rather than focusing on resilience as endurance, the session reframes leadership as care, presence, and structural compassion — asking what becomes possible for children when adults are truly held, valued, and able to breathe.
