Cameron Sprague

Head of Nurseries, Stramash Social Enterprise

Cameron Sprague is the Head of Nurseries and Co-Director of Stramash Social Enterprise, working in partnership with Josh Fisher (Finance & Operations) to lead the organization. As a highly respected leader in outdoor Early Years education, Cameron has over 25 years of experience dedicated to working with children in nature.

As the founding manager of Stramash Fort William, Cameron led the nursery's transformation from a two-acre grass field into a dynamic, child-led outdoor space affectionately known as the ‘Field of Dreams.’ He now guides the educational vision for all Stramash settings, bringing the same passion and focus on developmental security and magic to the organization's wider mission.

Cameron's expertise extends beyond Stramash, where he actively provides training and consultancy to educators seeking to maximize the potential of children’s outdoor play. He has hosted the Stramash podcast, 'Puddle Patter,' a series dedicated to explaining the mission, values, and science behind their outdoor practice. He has presented internationally in countries including Scotland, England, Lithuania, Iceland, and the United States, and was a valued contributor at IPA World 2023. His work on child development and secure attachment is further underscored by his role as a Certified Nesting Ambassador for the Evolved Nest initiative. He is a published author, with his inclusion in the anthology Born to Play
