Kat Lakes is one of Ofsted’s Early Years Regulatory Inspectors. She is a qualified early years practitioner and started her career as a two-year old room leader in a nursery where she progressed to nursery manager and owner. Kat has considerable experience of inspection and regulation of registered early years settings and now works in Ofsted's early education policy team, focusing on Ofsted’s ‘Best start in life’ strategic priority, providing inspector insight and support to policy colleagues and inspectors on early education curriculum and the education inspection framework (EIF).
