CEO , Moti Me

Katie is an industrial design graduate from Loughborough University, who has always loved working with children who have special needs. Throughout university, Katie worked closely with Ashmount Special Needs School through a volunteer scheme. Shortly after graduating university, Katie’s younger cousin was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. After spending a lot of time caring for her cousin and chatting to her auntie, Katie quickly realised how much physiotherapy her cousin was having to complete on a daily basis and the challenges involved in caring for a special needs child. Upon speaking with numerous healthcare professionals and parents with a special needs child, Katie was inspired to design something that would support children in their developmental journey. This was when Katie started Moti Me, where she is creating a fun, physical product that helps and guides children to achieve their developmental milestones such as sitting, standing and walking. The product also provides structured support for parents or caregivers who would like more involvement in their child’s therapy journey or who need a helping hand. The product makes physiotherapy fun, engaging and records any progress made.

Since setting up Moti Me, Katie has worked with over 100 children with special needs across over 30 healthcare organisations in the UK. She has tested various prototypes to gather feedback so that the product is able to support children in the best way possible. Katie hopes to launch Moti Me towards the end of 2025 to support many children and healthcare organisations across the country.
